The Kid Who Would Be King Music By Electric Wave Bureau
We are thrilled to announce the global release on January 25th, 2019 of the epic score album to Joe Cornish’s sophomore feature film, The Kid Who Would Be King in which old school magic meets the modern world in an epic adventure. Alex (Ashbourne Serkis) thinks he’s just another nobody, until he stumbles upon the mythical Sword in the Stone, Excalibur. Now, he must unite his friends and enemies into a band of knights and, together with the legendary wizard Merlin (Patrick Stewart), take on the wicked enchantress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson). With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be.
Music plays an immense role in The Kid Who Would Be King. Joe Cornish gave scoring duties to Electric Wave Bureau. The result is a unique and breathtaking score that combines classical, medieval and electronic elements, simultaneously paying tribute to the legacy of the legend of Arthur while updating it with a modern and exciting twist.
Electric Wave Bureau (EWB) is a London-based collaborative artist collective dedicated to composing and sourcing music for film, television, radio and online (recent projects include Paddington 1 & 2 and Broken).
