Liam Neeson stars in Retribution, an immersive ticking-clock thriller that straps audiences in for a high-octane ride of redemption and revenge. When a mysterious caller puts a bomb under his car seat, Matt Turner (Neeson) begins a high-speed chase across the city to complete a series of tasks. With his kids trapped in the backseat and a bomb that will explode if they get out of the car, a normal commute becomes a twisted game of life or death as Matt follows the stranger’s increasingly dangerous instructions in a race against time to save his family.

Available everywhere now, the album features music written by the acclaimed composer Harry Gregson-Williams for the high-stakes action film. Retribution marks Neeson’s fourth collaboration with producers STUDIOCANAL & The Picture Company following Non-Stop, The Commuter and Unknown. For Retribution, Gregson-Williams has crafted a synth-heavy score that both captures the film’s action-packed race against time and also its more emotional elements.

Of the score, composer Harry Gregson-Williams says, “Approaching the score for Retribution, my foremost challenge was balancing the electrifying rush of high-stakes adrenaline with the deeply emotional element of a parent protecting their children in an intensely dangerous situation. Director Nimród Antal and I decided early on that employing various synths and rhythmic elements would be effective in building intensity, propelling the film forward, and complementing the film’s modern aesthetic.” 

Produced by STUDIOCANAL and The Picture Company, director Nimród Antal’s Retribution makes its theatrical debut Friday, August 25 from Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
