Redeeming Love Music By Brian Tyler & Breton Vivian
Based on the bestselling novel by Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love tells the powerful story of relentless love and perseverance as a young couple’s relationship clashes with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850. The project is the latest collaboration between Redeeming Love director DJ Caruso and Brian Tyler, who have worked together since 2008 on five of the director’s previous films.
Co-composers Brian Tyler and Breton Vivian crafted a sweeping score for the historical romance that captures the heart of the story and its many themes. They enlisted the talents of GRAMMY Award-winning violinist Gil Shaham, who features as a soloist across 8 of the album’s 22 songs and helps shape the score’s thematic melodies.
On working with Shaham and Vivian on the score, Brian Tyler says, “the thematic melodies of this score needed a voice. So I chose solo violin as the instrument to do this with and was lucky enough to have world-renowned violinist Gil Shaham as our soloist. He is truly one of the greatest violinists in history, a violinist whom I fell in love with from witnessing his solos on a broadcast live performance of Schindler’s List. His playing brings both the heartache and joy of the themes to life in ways that lift the soul and make the spirit take flight. Working again with the talented Breton Vivian, we were so fortunate to have such a wonderful set of musicians performing this score. The orchestra played beautifully as well, bringing a truly human element to the music. I will forever be grateful for this experience and hope that listeners will be taken on a journey that reflects the beauty of the story of Redeeming Love.”
Starring Abigail Cowen, Tom Lewis, Logan Marshall Green, Famke Janssen, Nina Dobrev and Eric Dane, Redeeming Love makes its debut in theaters January 21 via Universal Pictures.
