Deadpool Music By Tom Holkenborg / Junkie XL
The most irreverent anti-hero in the Marvel universe, Deadpool, finally makes it to the big screen with a beautiful R rating. The fans will be pleased! Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool tells the story of former special forces operative Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) who, in an effort to cure his cancer, was subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, disfigured skin, an unstable mind, and a “dark, twisted” sense of humor. Armed with new abilities and a new identity, Wilson hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
The film features a bad-ass 90s soundtrack. Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road) contributed an exciting score covering a wide range of styles: electro, break beat, orchestral. The album also includes songs by Salt-N-Pepa, DMX, Neil Sedaka, Juice Newtown, Teamheadkick and of course Careless Whisper by the one and only George Michael.
Twentieth Century Fox is releasing Deadpool nationwide on February 12, 2016 right in time for Valentine’s Day.
