To celebrate the vinyl release of FLCL Season 1 Vol. 2 & 3 soundtracks, vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and composer Sawao Yamanaka of the legendary Japanese rock band the pillows has curated this month’s edition of our Composer Spotlight playlist! Sawao-san’s handpicked selection features some his favorite tracks from the Japanese indie rock scene along with two favorites from season one of FLCL. Best known outside Japan for their music featured in the cult favorite anime series, the pillows have released over 20 studio albums in their multi-decade spanning career, building a devoted following around the world.
