Paprika Music By Susumu Hirasawa
Paprika is a Japanese animated film, based on Yasutaka Tsutsui‘s 1993 novel about a female detective who investigates criminal cases by entering the dreams of her subjects. Susuma Hirasawa is one of Japan’s most cutting-edge electronic musicians. He intricately weaves electronic music and voice with organic instruments to create an orchestral experience unlike anything you’ve ever heard. To quote the New York Film Festival, “This delightful movie is bursting with ideas about Japanese repression, multiple identities, collective dreams and the dark side of the country’s love of Cute.“
